AVIO  - a video server specifically designed for ingest and production purposes with excellent playout capabilities

 Deploying feature rich Video Server just became easier, powerful and affordable

AVIO is a Video Server based on 64 bit Embedded Operating System with RAID 5EE/6, SAS disks for data (or SATA disks for entry level model). It takes only a while to bootstrap and it is immediately ready for Ingestion or Playout. Front Panel has just power on button and 5” TFT Touch Display and headphone connector. AVIO is available in 2RU, offering several expansion and I/O channels capabilities. AVIO rear panel has just BNC for Video/Audio as well as 4 Network plugs; it appears to be like rear panel of a traditional VTR.

Default interfaces include: redundant PSU, Quad GbE, REF and the support for up to 4 in and 4 out SDI BNC connectors.

Optional Interfaces include: Dual 10 GbE, quad RS-422, LTC and SAS expansion port. Storage expansion is up to 4RU with up to 60 SAS/SATA disks.

AVIO comes with comprehensive System Manager, running as web application.

Multi Format: AVIO supports almost any common audio/video formats (some are optional), such as: SD/HDV, HD, / MPEG2, DV, DVCPRO, GXF, Panasonic AVC Intra, AVID DNxHD, SONY XDCAM, Apple ProRes / MXF OP1a, MXF Op-Atom, AVI, Apple QuickTime (Self Contained and Referenced).

Multi Proxy: AVIO can support the creation of up two concurrent H.264 Proxy: one dedicated to frame accurate browsing and one for publication purposes (for example WEB).

Asynchronous File Transfer (AFT): While ingesting on local cache, AVIO can transfer files to multiple network locations. A storage manager takes care of local purging (FIFO).

Broadcast Streaming: Concurrently to high quality and proxy ingest, AVIO generates also a streaming format for each channel; this streaming has no latency and it is frame accurate and can be used for confidence, preview and multi viewers purposes. SDI output for confidence playout is also supported.

Instant Replay and Live Editing: Editors can cut, edit and replay using either third party NLEs or the Media Alliance application XCUT while the system is still recording.

Channel-in-a-box: AVIO supports full featured automation in a box, including standard 2D CG or featured rich 3D animated CG.
